Hip Hop
is seen primarily on TV during rap and R &
B music videos. It is a form that evolved out of street and
break dancing moves, and is characterized by its vigorous
athletics and bouncy style. Hip Hop is danced primarily to Hip
Hop, Rap and R & B music, and knee pads are needed for all
levels above basic. It is a high-energy class where
coordination, style, and musicality is emphasized as well as
street funk and personal style.

Elementary level
building on basic Hip Hop techniques. This
class is designed to gain strength, technique and
speed.
Hip Hop
2
Secondary
level requiring students to correctly execute
material learned in the elementary level.
Students continue to learn, working for speed and
complexity as well as proper technique.

Intermediate level requiring
both technical ability and strength. This
class is designed for students with many years of
training.

Advanced-beginning level requiring
both technical ability and strength. This
class is designed for students with many years of
training.

Advanced level requiring
both technical ability and strength. This
class is designed for students with many years of
training.
Dress code for all Hip Hop classes is
any color Leotard and Tights.
Shorts, sweats or jazz pants are allowed OVER the tights. Hip Hop 1
classes wear regular tennis shoes (clean plain black
tennis shoes will be required for shows) and Hip Hop 2,
3, and 4 require the black jazz sneakers.
